As Expo 2023’s launch draws closer, the Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ has hit a new milestone, setting a Guinness World Record with the main building’s green roof – now the world’s largest at a sprawling 4,031 sqm.
This architectural feat isn’t Ashghal’s first global recognition. Previously, the organization has secured records for the largest electric bus depot in Lusail, the longest air-conditioned outdoor path in Umm Al Seneem park, and several others, showcasing Qatar’s penchant for innovation.
Commenting on the accomplishment, Mohammed Al Khouri, Secretary General of the International Horticultural Expo 2023, expressed enthusiasm over the expo building’s recognition, believing it adds further vibrancy to the upcoming global event. Similarly, Eng. Jaralla Mohammed Al Marri highlighted Ashghal’s continuous drive to achieve global excellence through remarkable projects.
Designed to set new standards for horticulture in arid climates, the building embodies Qatar’s vision of merging nature with modern urban designs.
