Visit Qatar has announced that “Shop Qatar,” the biggest shopping events in the nation, will return in 2024. With the theme “Your Shopping Playground,” it will take place from January 1 to January 27, 2024. Thirteen malls and shopping centres from all around Qatar will be taking part in the almost month-long events, which will feature a range of activations, lottery draws, cash prizes, competitions, promotions, and entertainment appropriate for guests of all ages.
Building on Shop Qatar 2023’s popularity, the upcoming edition promises to combine cutting-edge ideas and technology with fresh gaming experiences, offering you your beloved characters like Barbie, Cocomelon, Bluey, and Miraculous, among many more.
Speaking on the upcoming festival, Eng. Abdulaziz Ali Al Mawlawi, Chief Marketing and Promotion Officer at Qatar Tourism, said:
“Shop Qatar is now in its 8th edition, a testimony to the ongoing success of this important events that has become a staple on our annual social calendar. Timed for the start of the year, Shop Qatar will launch us into a new year of an incredible events line-up suited for the whole family. This success is owed to the continued collaboration and cooperation of our valued stakeholders, and we look forward to a successful edition in 2024.”
Opening and closing ceremonies
Rouh Al Sharq, a well-known regional band, will perform in Place Vendôme to celebrate the opening of Shop Qatar 2024. The show will take place on a specially constructed platform at the dancing fountains of Place Vendôme. There will be thrilling parades, a meet-and-greet with influencers, competitions, giveaways, and announcements on the opening day.
Doha Festival City will host the closing events, where the grand prize winner will be announced and the final raffle draw will take place. Special performances and unexpected hosts that interact with the crowd will also be featured at the ceremony. On the last day of Shop Week, Qatar Tourism will honour malls and their distinguished staff members with a specially designed “Mall & Retail Awards” ceremony.
Raffles and Prizes
The most well-known malls in Qatar will hold a variety of events and entertainment throughout the festival, offering substantial discounts and exciting raffle draws with prizes for locals. There will be weekly raffle draws:
First week at the Mall of Qatar, January 5
January 12 is the second week at Msheireb Galleria.
January 19 is the third week at Place Vendôme.
January 27 is the fourth week at Doha Festival City.
Four luxurious cars, fascinating freebies given away by hosts during interactive activities, and cash rewards in various quantities are among the prizes. Twelve winners will receive QR 10,000 apiece, eight will receive QR 20,000, and four lucky winners will receive QR 50,000. Additionally, redemption stations will be located in malls where customers can exchange invoices for coupons.
Fun for the little ones
Locals can visit pop-ups of the largest toy brands in the world whenever it is convenient for them geographically. Place Vendome will be the home of the amazing Barbie Dreamhouse and Barney Live Show throughout the events. Kids can enjoy the Miraculous Activity Live Show at Doha Festival City, and City Centre Mall will have an Emoji Activity Corner. Families can enjoy the Fruit Ninja at Msheireb Galleria, the Scrabble Activity Corner and the Coco melon Activity Corner at Hyatt Plaza Mall, the LOL Activity Corner at Al Hazm Mall, Bluey at Mall of Qatar, and the Dart Zone in UDC. Everyday parades, unexpected visitors, and additional events will be held in Qatari malls that are involved.
